Trumpeter Billy Buss is the First Runner-Up in the 2004 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition.  Berkeley, California native Billy Buss graduated from the Berklee College of Music and Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance at Loyola University.  Billy performed here this past January 25, 2014 with '13 Thelonious Monk Finalist saxophonist Godwin Louis.  Billy has also performed around the world including Shanghai and Beijing, China.  Monk-in-Motion: The Next Face of Jazz presents the top three winners of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition.
