Jazz Forum opened at two locations: Cooper Square 1979-1981 and 648 Broadway from 1981-1983, and was operated by trumpeter/presenter Mark Morganelli. Jazz Forum was instrumental in preserving the genre. From 1979 to 1983, recordings, videos, films, and radio broadcasts documented the work of several musicians.

Jazz Gallery was owned by Joe and Iggy Termini and opened in 1959. Prior to opening the Jazz Gallery, the Termini brothers opened the Five Spot in the mid ‘50s. Their strong commitment to jazz showcased such musicians as John Coltrane, Gil Evans, and Joe Williams. Concert featuring Vanessa Rubin and Allan Harris with Norman Simmons Trio.
