Trombonist David Gibson is a 2003 Thelonious Monk Competition finalist. David is a native of Oklahoma, and has performed with Slide Hampton, Jon Faddis, Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Heath, James Moody, and Orrin Evans (our Feb 4performer). David teaches at the New School University, and Columbia University, and has made seven recordings as a leader; his latest is Inner Agent, his fourth for the Poly-tone label. More at www.jazzbone.org.
