Sounds of Albania

Following its acclaimed debut at New York's Kaufman Music Center, Sounds of Albania returns with a captivating program celebrating the richness and diversity of the musical traditions of the Albanian lands. Reimagined by renowned arranger Edmond Xhani for string quartet, flute, clarinet, and percussion, these treasured works are transformed through fresh textures and renewed emotional depth. The program also features an original composition by American violinist and Queen Teuta Quartet member Megan Gould, inspired by Queen Teuta, the legendary Illyrian ruler for whom the ensemble is named. Performed by an exceptional ensemble of Albanian and American musicians, the concert is a powerful celebration of artistic collaboration, cultural heritage, and music's timeless ability to build bridges between cultures.
